Privacy Policy — Vakt-i Namaz

This privacy policy applies to the Vakt-i Namaz app developed by Toprak Labs. By using the app you agree to the practices described here.

In short

Vakt-i Namaz is ad-free and does not try to identify you personally. We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for marketing. In-app analytics and crash reporting are collected only after you give consent.

Data we collect

1. Location

We use your device location to calculate prayer times and the qibla direction. Location is:

  • Used only to compute times/qibla and determine the nearest place.
  • Processed on your device; your location history is not stored on our servers.
  • Optional — you may deny the permission and choose your city manually.

2. Notifications

We use the notification permission to deliver adhan and prayer reminders. You can turn this off at any time from your device settings.

3. Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)

We use Google’s Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used (open counts, which screens are used, device/OS type — aggregated data). This data does not identify you personally.

4. Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)

When the app crashes, technical crash information (stack trace, device model, OS version) is collected so we can fix issues.

Important: Analytics and crash reporting do not run until you consent on first launch. Nothing is sent in development (debug) builds.

  • No analytics/crash data is collected before you accept on the welcome screen.
  • You can revoke location and notification permissions anytime from device settings.

Third-party services

  • Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics): Google Privacy Policy
  • Open-Meteo: location coordinates are queried for weather; no personal data is sent.
  • Prayer times are based on the official calendar of the Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet).

Data retention and security

Your settings and preferences are stored only on your device. Aggregated analytics/crash data collected via Firebase is retained on Google’s infrastructure under Google’s retention periods.

Children’s privacy

The app is for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes are posted on this page; the “Last updated” date at the top applies.
